Denver Air Connection coming to Jackson, TN

On August 4th, the Department of Transportation approved Denver Air Connections proposal to provide essential air service (EAS) to the Jackson, Tennessee area.

About Denver Air Connection:

Denver Air Connection, a regional airline in the United States, began operations in 2002. Initially known as Denver Air, it was established to serve as a feeder airline for larger carriers, focusing on connecting smaller markets to major hubs. The airline originally operated under a variety of names and affiliations, including "Denver Air Connection," reflecting its commitment to providing essential regional services. Over the years, it has maintained a focus on regional routes, offering flights primarily in the western U.S. and connecting underserved airports. Denver Air Connection's operations are characterized by its emphasis on reliable, regional connectivity, playing a crucial role in linking smaller communities with major transportation networks.

Denver Air Connection’s Proposal:

Denver Air is wanting to fly the Jackson area to Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport (ATL) with 12 weekly round trips. The airline is wanting to use Dornier 328 (30 seats) and Embraer ERJ-145 (50 seats) regional jets.

The launch date for the new airline is December 1, 2024. And the term will end in four years on November 30, 2028.

Annual Subsidy:

Year 1: $7,954,117

Year 2: $8,510,905

Year 3: $9,106,668

Year 4: $9,744,135

Author’s opinion:

This will be a great addition to Jackson’s infrastructure. It has been hard to watch airlines come in and out of the Jackson area to always leave an even worse stain. However I am confident that this airline has more than enough potential to resurrect the region’s reputation for transportation and exceed beyond the public’s expectations.
